Job description

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to make parts.

We are looking for a successful experienced machinist with the ability and knowledge to perform the following:

  • read the general dimensions on customer/internal drawings.
  • measure parts to print specifications and make necessary adjustments.
  • measure coolant concentration and fill machine fluids to proper level.
  • operate inspection equipment specific to job requirements.
  • operate 2 of 3 CNC-machine interfaces (Fanuc, Siemens or Haas).
  • install and touch off grinding wheel.
  • use work shifts inputs in the operator interface to decrease set up time between jobs when applicable.
  • back off tools and ‘dial in’ for setup.
  • measure all part features required (radii, lengths, steps, etc.)
  • Understand thermal expansion effects on part size and compensate accordingly to achieve final part geometry requirements.
  • GD&T certified (base level: ASME Y14.5-2009 standard, Tec-ease)
